My sculpture centers on how myths and
memories emerge from specific cultures and geographical
locations...
Land, seasons, and climate have also been strong
influences on my work since returning to Minnesota 15 years ago.
Experiencing its natural world, one where the seasons are marked
in a dramatically visual and sensual way, I've used exclusively
natural materials gathered and found in specific environments,
documenting the sites where I collect them and considering how
the combination of conditions in an area affects the living
things that reside there. My sculpture centers on how myths and
memories emerge from specific cultures and geographical
locations, recognize the physical world's mystical and
ritualistic essence.
